The Board of County. Commissioners held their regular, meeting at the Oounty Courthouse Monday <br /> <br /> January %, 1953 wit~ the following members present: <br /> <br /> J. Lee ~hite~ chairman, Homer L. Fink~ P. Ernest Stallings <br /> <br /> L. Buwman Barrier and M. Smoot Lyles. <br /> <br /> Motion by Homer Fink seconded by M. Smoot Lyles that the request from Minnie Ho.over, for six mc~th~ <br /> leave of absence be granted. <br /> <br /> Motion by P. Ernest S~allings ~econded by M. Smoot Lyles that Janie Sollommn be given free privilel <br /> license on accounty of being physical disabled. <br /> <br /> Motion by L. B~rman Barrier seconded by P. Ernest Stallings that State Highway and Public works <br /> commission be requested to tar and gravel road from N. C. High~ay 73 through Pleasant Hills and <br /> <br /> back to #73. <br /> <br /> Motion by Homer L.._Fink seconded by M. Smoot Lyles that .Lgwis Paul Sherrill be given l~rs <br /> license on account of being disabled. <br /> <br /> Motion by L. B~an Barrier seconded by M. Smoot Lvles that report of Audit of Cleek~ Report b~ - <br /> ¢. N. Field be accepted. <br /> <br /> Motion by M. Smoot Lyles seconded by L Bowman Barrier that resolution in regards to fires be <br /> amended to read as follces= "That county pay the City Fire Department of Concord and Mt. Pleasant <br /> and Kannapolis and ~ther fire departments $70.00 for all calls made outside corporate city limits. <br /> $35.00 will be .assessed against the property owner and ~35.00 from the county. This will only <br /> paid to Kannapolis Department for services rendered outside of district they now cover. This <br /> will be no fee paid for grass fires. Also name of the party calling to report the fire must <br /> be given." <br /> <br /> The following good and lawful ~tizens were ~rawn to serve on the Jurys for the month of January. <br /> <br />Parks E.
