385 <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at a call meeting Monday, June 28, <br />1965 at 10:00 a.m. in the Courthouse. <br />Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, McNeil Petrea, Oren Hill, Frank McCray <br /> <br />Absent: Commissioner, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. John Hugh Williams requested <br />one week special court be granted in September, 1965. McCray made motion, <br />seconded by Petrea to grant this request. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Kaplan of Ways Radio in Charlotte requested a fireworks permit for <br />Saturday, July 3, 1965 to be used at Concord Dragstrip. Proceeds will go to <br />the Boy Scou~s of Mecklenburg and Cabarrus County. Petrea made motion, seconded <br />by Hill to grant this request provided proceeds are divided equally, is properly <br />supervised and a volunteer fire department is standing by. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Hill to set the tenmtive tax rate at <br /> to approve <br />$1.44 for the year 1965-66, also, the ter~tive 1965-66 budget. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
