The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at a call meeting Monday, July 26, 1965 <br /> <br />at the Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, Oren Hill, Frank McCray <br /> <br /> Absent: Commissioners, McNeil Petrea, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Hill made motion, seconded by <br />McCray to adopt the 1965-66 budget (found on pages ~f thru ~ ) and tax <br />rate of $1.44 per hundred dollar valuation. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Alfred Hurt, Count~ ~countant, was instructed to insure the Snyder Building <br />and Patterson Building for $40,000 each. <br /> <br /> McCray made motion, seconded by Hill to adopt the following resolution <br /> <br />providing for the levy of taxes for the Parkwood Sanitary District at fifteen <br /> <br />(15¢) per one hundred dollar valuation: Vote carried. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES FOR THE PARKWOOD SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the following resolution, passed by the Sanitary District Board of <br />the Parkwood Sanitary District on the 12th day of July, 1965, has been received <br />by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarus: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Sanitary District Board of <br /> Parkwood Sanitary District: <br /> Section One. That the Sanitary District Board has determined and <br /> does hereby find and declare: <br /> (a) That the funds available from surplus operating revenues as <br /> provided by G.S. 13o-144 are not sufficient for the payment of interest <br /> and the retirement of the District's bonds. <br /> (b) That it is estimated the assessed valuations of the property <br /> within the limits of the Parkwood Sanitary District amount to approximately <br /> One Million Three Hundred Thousand Dollars. <br /> (c) That a levy of Fifteen Cents per One Hundred Dollars valuation <br /> will produce approximately Nineteen Hundred Fifty Dollars revenue. <br /> (d) That barring unforeseen and unanticipated expenses the additional <br /> sum of Nineteen Hundred Fifty Dollars should be ample to meet all obligations <br />'.~f~ ~hef the District during the fiscal year 1965-1966. <br /> Section Two. T~'at the Secretary of the Parkwood Sanitary District <br />Board certify to the Board of County Commissioners for Gabarrus County, <br />North Carolina, that the Parkwood Sanitary District Board has determined <br />that a levy of Fifteen Gents per One Hundred Dollars valuation of property <br />within the District's limits zs necessary to raise the amount needed to <br />meet the current obligations of said District, and request that said amount <br />be included in the next annual levy to be determined by the Board of County <br />Commissioners and collected as other County taxes as proveded by G.S.130-144. <br />On motion of Commissioner W.Frank McCray, seconded by Commissioner Oren Hill~., <br />the foregoing resolution entitled: "RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF <br />TAXES FOR THE PARKWOOD SANITARY DISTRICT" was passed by the following vote: <br />AYES Frank McCray, Oren Hill, Frank James <br /> <br />NOES none <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> CIe'FI~ to Board <br /> <br /> <br />
