371 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the following Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission <br />appointments were approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Scott Trott <br />Mr. Gerald Nichols <br />Mr. Tom Dayvault <br /> <br />Length of Term <br /> 3 years (reappointment) <br /> 3 years (reappointment) <br /> 3 years <br /> <br />Area Represented <br /> <br />Kannapolis <br />Harrisburg <br />Kannapolis <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />1980 National Children's Dental Health Week <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The future, is to a large measure, dependent on the good health <br /> of our children and youth, the citizens of tomorrow; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: good health, physical and mental, can be achieved through good <br /> health habits, learned early, now <br /> <br />THEREFORE: <br /> <br />I, Troy R. Cook, Chairman, Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners, <br />do hereby proclaim the week of February 3 through 9, 1980, as <br />Children's Dental Health Week in Cabarrus County and urge that <br />all citizens and all community organizations join in the observance. <br /> <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the <br />seal of the County of Cabarrus to be affixed, this 14 of January <br />1980. <br /> <br />(COUNTY SEAL) <br /> <br />/s/ Troy Ray Cook <br />Chairman <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Cook, seconded by Commissioner Milloway and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the submission of a grant application <br />by the Planning Department to the Highway Division of the North Carolina <br />Department of Transportation to provide for the updating of the Mass <br />Transportation Plan prepared by Kimeley Horn and Associates in 1977. The <br />County's share of this 80-10-10 Federal, State, and Local match grant will be <br />provided by utilizing in-kind services and will require no County funding. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Bonds, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board apporved the following additions to the State <br />Secondary Road System for maintenance: <br /> <br />Winston Drive in Spring Hill Subdivision <br />Swaringen Drive in Pine Acres Subdivision <br />Wheeler Road in Pine Acres Subdivision <br />Treasure Drive in Gordon Heights Subdivision, Part II <br /> <br /> Chairman Cook stated that this was the day and hour set for a public <br />hearing for the renaming of six roads in the county and asked if anyone were <br />present who wished to speak for or against the renaming of these roads. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following road name changes: <br /> <br />Terrace Drive to <br />Unnamed Road to <br />Unnamed Road to <br />Arbor Acres Road to <br />Willow Ann Drive to <br />Belshire Drive to <br /> <br />Treasure Drive <br />Preslar Lane <br />Lois Drive <br />Concord Farms Road <br />Mistywood Lane <br />12th Fairway Drive <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Allen, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved by resolution the following road <br />abandonments: <br /> <br /> <br />
