220 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in recessed <br />session at the County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on Tuesday, <br />November 10, 1987, at 7:00 P.M. <br /> Present - Chairman: James W. Lentz <br /> Commissioners: Kenneth F. Payne <br /> William G. Hamby, Jr. <br /> Martha H. Melvin <br /> Absent - Commissioner: R. Giles Moss <br /> Mr. Charles D. McGinnis, County Manager, reported that Mr. Leonard <br />Sossamon, Concord City Manager, had informed him that the Concord Board of <br />Aldermen was unable to meet on this date but that the Board of Aldermen could <br />meet with the Board of Commissioners at the conclusion of the City's regular <br />meeting on November 12. He further stated that Mr. Sossamon had indicated <br />that the Board of Aldermen's meeting began at 7:30 P.M. on November 12 and <br />would last until approximately 9:30 P.M. or 10:00 P.M. <br /> During discussion of the scheduling of a meeting with the Board of <br />Aldermen, the Board reviewed the need to meet with the Board of Aldermen as <br />soon as possible. Also, members of the Board expressed concern regarding the <br />scheduling of a meeting at such a late hour in the evening. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to invite the Concord Board of Aldermen <br />to meet with the Board of Commissioners at the Courthouse on Thursday, <br />November 12, 1987, at 10:00 P.M. <br /> Chairman Lentz presented a report on a school financing meeting he had <br />attended on November 9, 1987, at the East Rowan High School. <br /> Chairman Lentz recessed the meeting until 10:00 P.M. on Thursday, <br />November 12, 1987. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
