NORTH CAROLINA Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes April 17, 1997 · ' 7:00 P.M. Mr. Ed Hill, The Chair, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present in addition to the Chair were Mr. Clyde Drye, Mr. Thomas Dwiggins, Mr. Carleton Hobbs, Mr. Walter Kiefer, Mr. Benjamin Lane, Mr. Dewey Moose, Mr. Edward Moose, Mr. Aaron Ritchie, and Mr. Ric Starnes. Attending from the Planning and Zoning Department were Mr. Peter Tatge, Senior Planner, Mr. Michael Byrd, Transportation Planner, Mr. Michael Downs, Development Services Director, and Ms. Phyllis C. Carr. Also attending was Mr. Richard Ko~ch~ Attorney for'the Planning and Zoning Commission. There being no corrections to the MarCh 20, 1997 Minutes, Mr. Ritchie MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Drye, to approve the Minutes as mailed. The vote was unanimous. The Chair introduced the first item of business on the Agenda, Preliminary Subdivision Plat Approval' Applicant: Donald Whitaker Request: Preliminary Subdivision Plat Approval This was a request to the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission from Mr. Donald Whitaker to have his subdivision plat Motorsports Industrial Park, Phase III approved preliminary. Mr. Michael L. Byrd, Transportation Planner, addressed the Board present/ng this preliminary subdivision plat stating one of the concerns the staff had was the number of entrances on to Slough Road and if they were actually needed. They-already have entrances in Phase I and II and they are showing two entrances on Phase III. l/Ve talked with NCDOT about this and they did-not have any concerns.
