NORTH CAROLINA Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes May 15, 1997 7:00 P.M. Mr. Ed 'Hill The Chair, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present in addition to the Chair were Mr. Clyde Drye, Jr., Mr. Thomas Dwiggins, Mr. Carleton Hobbs, Mr. Walter Kiefer, Mr. Benjamin Lane, Mr. Dewey Moose, Jr., Mr. Aaron Ritchie and Mr. Ric Starnes. Attending from the Planning and Development Services Department were Mr, Ionathan B. Marshall, Planning Services Director and Ms. Phyllis C. Carr. Also attending was Mr. Richard Koch, Attorney for the Planning and Zoning Commission. There being no correCtions to the April 17, 1997 Minutes, Mr. Ritchie MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Dwiggins to approve the Minutes as mailed. The vote was unanimous. The Chair introduced the first item of business on the Agenda, Petition 96-06(T), Communication Towers: lm Applicant: Planning & Development Services Request: Communication Towers This was a request to the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission from the Cabarrus County Planning & Development Services Department to discuss Communication Towers. Mr. Jonathan Marshall Planning Services Director, addressed the Board slating we have been going through this process by which we have been proposing to amend our ordinance on how we handle wireless communicat/ons. The City of Kannapolis agreed to hire someone to draft a change to the ordinance. Mr. Marshall said he and Mike Downs need to put it in the form so it: can go within our codes. He said he is ~ust asking the Board to review it tonight and table any action to next months meeting.
