NORTH CAROLINA <br />Planning and ZOning Commission Minutes <br /> July 15, 1999 <br /> 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Mr. Ed Hill, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 7'00 p.m. Members <br />present in addition to the Chair were Mr. Clyde Drge, Jr., Mr. Thomas'.Dwiggins, <br />Mr. Carleton Hobbs, Mr. Walter Kiefer,~-lVis. Martha Kiker, Mr. Dewey Moose, Jr., <br />Mr. Aaron Ritchie and Mr. Ric Starnes. Also attending was Mr. Richard Koch, <br />Attorney fOr the Planning and Zoning Commission. ' <br /> <br />After a correction was made to the. June 10, 1999 Minutes Mr. Kiefer MOTIONED <br />to approve the minutes, seconded by Mr. Ritchie. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />The Chair stated to the Board and citizens that the business tonight is mainly <br />Board of Adjustment functions. The Board will be operating in a quasi-judicial <br />capacity and sworn testimony is required. <br /> <br />The Chair introduced the first item on the Agenda, Variance Application 134(V)' <br /> <br />Applicant: Corning, ]:,nc. <br />Request: Variance Application :t34(V) <br /> <br />This was a request to the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning <br />Commission from Corning, Inc., to place three signs along their <br />road frontage on Highway 601 S. <br /> <br />The Chair swore in Mr. Gerald Orazem, Mr. Aubrey Walker, 'and Mr. <br />Robbie Foxx. <br /> <br />Mr. Robbie Foxx, Zoning Inspector, addressed the Board presenting <br />Variance Application 134(V) and staff report stating that. Corning, <br />Inc. is requesting these signs so they might be able t© label their <br />entrances to avoid confusion and less traffic congestion for that <br />area. <br /> <br />The Chair opened the Public Hearing on Variance 134(V). <br /> <br /> Planning Services Division <br /> <br />P.
