CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> Post Off~ce Box 707 <br /> <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY PLANNING BOARD MEETING <br /> <br />June 20, 1990 <br />7'00 P.M. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Ms. Nancy Randall, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 7'00 P.M- Board <br />Members present in addition to Chairman Randall were, Mr. HOward Hurlocker, <br />Mr. Ge.rald Nichols and Mr. Louis Suther. Attending from the Planning and <br />Zoning Deaprtment were Mr. Gerald A. Newton, Directo~r, Mr. Mike Downs, <br />Zoning .Administrator, Mr. Jonathan Marshall, Mr. Mike Byrd and Ms Phyllis C. <br />Also attending ~was Mr. Gordon L. Belo, Attorney for the Planning ~oard. <br /> <br />Carr. <br /> <br />With there being no correc'tions to the Minutes, Mr. Suther MOTIONED, seconded <br />by Mr. Hurlocker to approve the minutes as mailed. 'Before approving the <br />minutes, Chairman ~Randall made a comment to Ms. Carr; in the future when taking <br />minutes, if she would more fully report more comments on the basis that the <br />Commissioners are loo'king at what we do quite closely now. Therefore, she <br />would like to have as many comments about the kind of q:uestions we ask a.nd <br />the issues we raise recorded in .the minutes. After 'these comments the minutes <br />were u.nan imous ly' approved.- <br /> <br />Chairman Randall stated to the citizens that the Planning Board is an advisory <br />committee and they only make recommendations to the County Commissioners on <br />rezonings. The County Commissioners will discuss all issues on July 16, 1990, <br />at 7'00 P.M., and-they will make all final decisions on rezonings. <br /> <br />Chairman Randall introduced the first item on the Agenda,. Preliminary Plat Approval: <br /> <br />1. Applicant- Whitley Construction <br /> Request- ApPro. va..1 .of Prelimi.nary Plat <br /> <br /> This was a request to the Cabarrus Cou'nty Planning Board from Whitley <br /> Construction to have their subdivision plat unnamed Subdivision approved <br /> preliminary. <br /> <br />Staff Member, Jonathan Marshall, presented the Preliminary Plat. <br /> <br />Chairman Randall asked Mr. Hurlocker if there were any necessary <br />protections to ensure that driveway cuts would not 'be .made onto <br />Rocky River Road, but would run off River Run Lane. She then questioned <br />if that should be an issue. <br /> <br />Mr. Hurlocker said he thinks this should be of concern. <br /> <br /> <br />
