CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />December 20, 1989 <br /> <br />Minutes of the Cabarrus County Planning Board <br /> <br />Roll Call- <br /> <br />Approval/ <br />Correction of <br />Minutes. <br /> <br />Bristol <br />Development <br />Corporation <br />Rezonin~ <br />ARR to -2' <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Planning'Board met in regular sessi.on on December 20, 1989, <br />at 7:'00 P.M., in the County Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus County Courthouse. <br /> <br />Before roll call, Ms. Randall stated to the citizens, that Petition 89-18 had <br />been postponed until the Jc{nuary 17, 1990 'Planning Board meeting. <br /> <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ms. Nancy Randall. <br /> · Members present in addition to Ms. Randall were Mr. Howard <br /> Hurlocker, Mr. Edward Moose, Mr. Gerald Nichols and Mr. Louis <br /> Suther. Attending from the Planning Department were <br /> Mr. James F. Owens, Planning Director, Mr. Mike Byrd, <br /> Mr. Jonathan Marshall and Ms. Phyllis C..Carr. Also attending <br /> was' Mr. Gordon L. Belo, Attorney for the Planning Board. <br /> <br /> With there being no co'rrections to the November 15, 1989 <br /> Minut.es, Mr. Suther MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Hurlocker <br /> to.approve the minutes as mailed. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> Ms. Randall stated to the citizens that the Planning Board is <br /> an advisory committee and they only make recommendations to <br /> the County Commissioners on rezonin§s. The County Commissioners <br /> will discuss all issues on January 15, 1990., at 7'00 P.M., <br /> and they will make all final decisions on rezonings. <br /> <br /> Petition 89-17, wasa request from Bristol DevelOpment <br /> Corporation, a-~ ~;he intersection of Rocky River and Hickory <br /> R~dge Roads, to have their property rezoned from ARR to ' <br /> C-2, to construct a shoppin§ center. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Alexander addressed the Board rep.resenting the <br />Quay 'Family and Bristol Development Corporation, stating <br />that Bristol Development Corporation basically develops <br />small shopping centers, and the plan' presented to the <br />Board is the. best plan for commercial development in that area. <br />Mr. Alexander also stated that this location will become. <br />a major intersection for that area in the near future. <br /> <br />Mr. Ronnie Faires also addressed the Board in favor of <br />this petition. <br /> <br /> <br />
