CABARRUS COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT Post Office Box 707 CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 March 16, 1988 Minutes of the Cabarrus County Planning Boa rd The Cabarrus County Planning Board met in regular session on March 16, 1988, at 7-03 p.m., in the County COmmissioners Room of the Cabarrus County Courthouse. Roll Call' The meeting was called to order by Chairman Larry Loving. Members present in addition to Mr. Loving were Mr. Robert Ewan, Mr. Gerald Nichols, Mr. Ronald Page an.d Mr. Louis Suther. Attending from the Planning Department were Mr. James F. Owens, Planning Director, Mr. Mike Byrd, Mr. Jonathan Marshall and Ms. Phyllis C. Carr. Also attending was Mr. Gordon L. Belo, Attorney for the Planning Board. Approval/ Correction of Minutes' After a correction 'was made to the Minutes, Mr. Page MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Ewan to approve the minutes as .mailed. The vote was unanimous. Mr. Loving stated to the citizens that the Planning Board is an advisory committee and only makes recommendations to the County Commissioners on rezonings. The County Commissioners will discuss all issues on April 18, 1988, at 7-00 p.m. and they will make the final decision on rezoni ng requests. New Business CSD Rezoning A- I/ARR to~ PUD- C&A .Enterprises Rezoning I-1 to C-2' Zoning Text Ame~ndments' Mr. Loving stated to the citizens that petition 8-8-03, CSD rezoning had been withdrawn from the' March Planning Board Meeting. The petition will be heard at the April 20, 1988 Planning Board Meeting. Petition 88-02, was a request by C & A Enterprises, on 4425 Republic Drive, Niblock Industrial Park; PIN 5601-71-5781, to have their pr.operty rezon'ed from I-1 to C-2, to build a fitness center. After discusSion Mr. Ewan MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Nichols to deny petition 88-02. The vote was unanimous. Petition 88-02. Subsection 3.2-4, Schedule of Use Regulations, Page 12.
