CABARRUS COUNTY' <br /> <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br /> <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />May 18, 1988 <br /> <br />Minutes of the Cabarrus County Pl-anning Boa rd <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Planning Board met in regular session on May 18, 1988, at <br />7'02 p,m., in the 'Cabarrus County Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus County <br />Courthouse. <br /> <br />Roll Call' <br /> <br />Approval/ <br />Correcti on of <br />Minutes' <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Larry Loving. <br />Members present in addition to Mr. Loving were Mr. <br />Robert Ewan, Mr. Gerald Nichols, Mr. Ronald Page and <br />Mr. Louis Suther. Attending from the Planning Department <br />were Mr. James F. Owens, Pl'anning Direct.ior, Mr. Mike <br />Byrd., Mr. Jonathan B. Marshall, Ms. Sue G. Wallace, <br />and Ms. Phyllis C. Carr. Also attending was Mr. Gordon <br />Belo, Attorney for the Planning Board. <br /> <br />With there being no corrections to the April 20. 1988 <br />Minutes., Mr. Nichols MOTIONED, sec'onded by Mr. Ewan <br />to approve the minutes as mailed. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />With there being no corrections to the May 4, 1988 Minutes, <br />Mr. Suther MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Nichols to approve <br />the minutes as mailed. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />CSD Rezoning <br />A-I/ARR to <br />PUD' <br /> <br />Mr. Loving stated to the citizens that the Planning Board <br />is an advisory committee and only makes recommendations <br />to the County Commissioners on rezonings. The County <br />Commissioners will discuss all issues on June 20, 1988, <br />at 7'00 p.m., and they will make the final decision on <br />rezoni ng requests. <br /> <br />Mr. Loving stated to the citizens that petition 88-03, <br />CSD, had been withdrawn. <br /> <br />J. Luther <br />Jones, Heirs <br />Rezoning <br />R-15 to C-4 & <br />I-1- <br /> <br />Petition 88-07, was a request by J. Luther Jones, Heirs, <br />off Highway 4.~, south of Highway 49/601 to have his <br />property rezoned from R-15 to C-4 and I-1, to allow <br />industrial/business uses commensurate with projected <br />needs in that area. <br /> <br />Mr. Douglas Schoonmaker addressed the.Board on ~behalf <br />of J. Luther Jones, Heirs. <br /> <br />Mr. Worth Morris also addressed the Board in favor of <br />this petition. <br /> <br /> <br />
