CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br /> <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />June 15, 1988 <br /> <br />Minutes of the Cabarrus County Planning Board <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Planning Board met in regular session on June 15, 1988,. at <br />7'03 p.m., in the County C'ommissioners Room of the Cabarrus County Courthouse. <br /> <br />Roll Call' <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Larry Loving. <br />Members present in addition to Mr. LOving were Mr. Robert <br />Ewan, Mr. Gerald Nichols, Mr Ronald Page and Mr. Louis <br />Suther. Attending from the ~lanning Department were Mr. <br />James F. Owens, Planning Director, Mr..Mike Byrd, <br />Mr. Jonathan B..Marshall and Ms. Phyllis C. Carr. A1 so <br />attending was Mr. Gordon L. Belo, Attorney for the <br />Planning Board. <br /> <br />Approval/Correction With there bein.g no corrections to the May 4, 1988 <br />of Minutes: Minutes, Mr. Ewan MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Su'ther to <br /> approve the minutes as mailed. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />New Business <br />Whitley <br />Manufacturing <br />Rezoning <br />I-X to I-1' <br /> <br />With there being no corrections to the May 18, 1988 <br />Minutes, Mr. Page MOTIONED, seconded by~ Mr. Suther <br />to approve the minutes as mailed. The vote was un.animous. <br /> <br />Petition 88-10, was a request by Whit!ey Manufacturing, <br />off Whitley Roa-d at Highway 601, South, to have their <br />property rezoned from I-X to I-1, to conform to its use <br />for the past thirty years. <br /> <br />Mr. James Scarbrouugh addressed the Board on behalf of <br />Whitley's Manufact ring stating that Mr. Whitley would <br />like to have his property rezoned so he would, not have to <br />go to the Board of Adjustment everytime he needed to add <br />a few employees or a new product line. Mr. Scarbrough <br />also stated that the business will remain a trucking and <br />light manu~facturing business. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert McCoy and Mr. James Martin addre-s.sed the Board <br />in favor of this petition. <br /> <br />Mr. Owens al.so addressed the Board about this petition. <br /> <br />After discussion Mr. Page MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Suther <br />to approve petition 88-10. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> <br />
