CABARRUS COUNTY' <br /> <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br /> <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />July 20, 1988 <br /> <br />Minutes of the Cabarrus County Planning Board <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Planni-ng Board met in regular session on July' 20, 1988, at <br />7:00 p.m., in the County Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus County Courthouse. <br /> <br />Roll Call' <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Lar.ry Loving. <br />Members in addition to Mr. Loving were Mr. Gerald Nichols, <br />Mr. Ronald Page and Mr. Louis Suther. Attending from the <br />Planning Department were Mr. James F. Owens-, Planning <br />Director, Mr. Mike Byrd, Mr. Jonathan Marshall and Ms. <br />Phyllis C. Carr. Also attending was Mr. Gordon L. Belo, <br />Atto.rney for the Planning Board. <br /> <br />Approval/ <br />Correction <br />Minutes- <br /> <br />With there being no corrections to' the Minutes, Mr. Page <br />MOTIONED, seconded by' Mr. Nichols to approve the minutes <br />as mailed. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />Mr. Loving stated to the citizens that the Plannin Board <br />is an advisory committee and only.makes, recommendatgions to <br />the County Commissioners on rezonings. .The County <br />Commissioners will discuss all issues on August 15, 1988, <br />at 7'00 p.m., and they will make the final deci'sion on <br />rezoning requests. <br /> <br />New Business <br />Thomas and <br />Dora Beane <br />Rezoning <br />I-X/ARR to <br />I-1' <br /> <br />Petition 88-11, was a request by Thomas-and Dora Beane, <br />off Cold Springs Road, to have their property rezoned from <br />I-X/ARR to I-1, to erect commercial warehouses on property. <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Arrowood representing Thomas and Dora Beane, <br />add.ressed the Board stating that he wish for the Board to <br />consider this rezoning and vote in favor of it. <br /> <br />Speaking in opposition to the rezoning were Mr. Larry <br />Heintz, Ms. Sue Furr, Mr. Charlie Rhodes, Ms. Tilley <br />Heintz and Mr. Jeff Heintz. <br /> <br />Mr. Owens also addressed the Board about this petition. <br /> <br />After discussion Mr. Page MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. <br />Nichols to deny petition 88-11. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> <br />
