CABARRUS COUNTY' PLANNING DEPARTMENT Post Office Box 707 CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 July 20, 1988 Minutes of the Cabarrus County Planning Board The Cabarrus County Planni-ng Board met in regular session on July' 20, 1988, at 7:00 p.m., in the County Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus County Courthouse. Roll Call' The meeting was called to order by Chairman Lar.ry Loving. Members in addition to Mr. Loving were Mr. Gerald Nichols, Mr. Ronald Page and Mr. Louis Suther. Attending from the Planning Department were Mr. James F. Owens-, Planning Director, Mr. Mike Byrd, Mr. Jonathan Marshall and Ms. Phyllis C. Carr. Also attending was Mr. Gordon L. Belo, Atto.rney for the Planning Board. Approval/ Correction Minutes- With there being no corrections to' the Minutes, Mr. Page MOTIONED, seconded by' Mr. Nichols to approve the minutes as mailed. The vote was unanimous. Mr. Loving stated to the citizens that the Plannin Board is an advisory committee and only.makes, recommendatgions to the County Commissioners on rezonings. .The County Commissioners will discuss all issues on August 15, 1988, at 7'00 p.m., and they will make the final deci'sion on rezoning requests. New Business Thomas and Dora Beane Rezoning I-X/ARR to I-1' Petition 88-11, was a request by Thomas-and Dora Beane, off Cold Springs Road, to have their property rezoned from I-X/ARR to I-1, to erect commercial warehouses on property. Mr. Bill Arrowood representing Thomas and Dora Beane, add.ressed the Board stating that he wish for the Board to consider this rezoning and vote in favor of it. Speaking in opposition to the rezoning were Mr. Larry Heintz, Ms. Sue Furr, Mr. Charlie Rhodes, Ms. Tilley Heintz and Mr. Jeff Heintz. Mr. Owens also addressed the Board about this petition. After discussion Mr. Page MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Nichols to deny petition 88-11. The vote was unanimous.
