CABARRUS COUNTY' <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />AUgust 17, 1988 <br /> <br />Minutes ~of the Cabarrus County Planning Board <br /> <br />The Cabarru~s County Planning Board met in regular session on August 17, <br />7-04 p.m., in Courtroom Number-1 of the Cabarrus County Courthouse. <br /> <br />Roll Call' <br /> <br />Minutes: <br /> <br />New Business <br />CSD & Associates <br />Rezoning <br />ARR/A- I to <br />PUD' <br /> <br />1988, at <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Larry Loving. <br />Members present, in addition to Mr. Loving were Mr. Robert <br />Ewan, Mr. Gerald Nichols and Mr. Louis Suther. Attending <br />from the Planning Department were Mr. James' F. Owens, <br />Planning Director, Mr. Mike Byrd, Mr. Jonathan Marshall and <br />Ms. Phyllis C. Carr. Also attending was Mr. Gordon L. <br />Belo, Attorney. for the Planning Board. <br /> <br />With there being no corrections to the July 20, 1988 Minutes, <br />Mr. Nichols MOTIONED, .seconded by Mr. Suther to approve the <br />minutes as mailed. The' vote was unanimous. <br />Mr. Loving stated to the citizens that the Planning Board is <br />an advisory committee and only makes recommendations to the <br />CountY Commissioners on rezoni.ngs. .The County Commissioners <br />will discuss all issues on September 19, 1988, at 7'00 p.m. <br />'and they will make the final decision on rezoning requests. <br /> · Petition 88-03, was a request by CSD & Associates, as Agents <br /> for Kings Grant, located off 1-85 at Mecklenburg County line, <br /> to have their property rezoned for-a major PUD in the <br /> commercial/indu.strial southwest corridor o.f Cabarrus County <br /> astride 1-85. <br /> Mr. Greg Hamilton addressed the Board about this petition <br /> -~s~at~ !n!g.~.~th-a~t ~th-e PU'D re.Z on i~!g~wieul.d~ b~ ~:t~o o de~nS e:~'f o-r~ ~.tha t~ ~a re a, <br /> and he would like to see that a'rea remain Single-family ' <br /> dwellings. <br /> <br /> Mr. Curt Needham from CSD & Associates representing the. Kings <br /> Grant developers addressed the Board asking the Bo-ard to <br /> favorably consider this rezoning. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Fitzhugh and Mr. Eric Jonas, representing Mr. C.B. <br /> Barbee, Jr., also addressed the Board about this petition. <br /> Mr. Owens addressed the Board stating that conditions were <br /> placed on this property when it was optioned.
