CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br /> <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA ~80~$ <br /> <br />October 19, 1988 <br /> <br />Minutes of the Cabarrus COunty Planning Board <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Planning Board met in regular session on October 19, 1988, <br />at 7:00 P.M'., in the County Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus COunty Courthouse. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert EWan. <br />Members present in addition to Mr. Ewan wece Mr. Gerald <br />Nichols, Mr. Ronald page, Ms. Nancy Randall and Mr. <br />Louis Suther. Attending from the Planning Department <br />were Mr. James F. Owens, Planning Director, Mr. Jonathan B. <br />Marshall and Ms, Phyllis C. Carr. A1 so attending was <br />Mr. Gordon L. Belo, Attorney for the Planning Board. <br /> <br />Approva 1 / <br />Correction of <br />Minutes' <br /> <br />With there being no corrections to the September 21, 1988 <br />Minutes, Mr. Page MOTIONED, seconded by Ms. Randall to <br />approve the minutes as mailed. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />'Mr. Ewan stated to the citizens that the Planning Boa rd is <br /> an advisory committee and they only make. recommendations <br /> to the County Commissioners on rezoni'ngs'. The County <br /> Commissioners will discuss all issues on November 21, 1988, <br /> at 7:00 p,m., and they will make the final decision on <br /> rezoning requests. <br /> <br />Mr. Ewan stated to the citizens that petition 88-15 had <br />been wi thdrawn. <br /> <br />New Business <br />Southern Star/ <br />Niblock <br />Associates <br />Rezoning <br />R-40 to PUD: <br /> <br />Petition 88-13, was a request by Southern Star/Niblock <br />~Associates, located on Weddington Road and Rock Hill <br />Church Road, to have their property rezoned from R-40 <br />to PUD, to put in a planned unit development with <br />single-family, multi-family, and community commercial. <br /> <br />Mr. Frank Niblock addressed the Board about this petition <br />explaining to the Boa rd what is goi~ng to be put' on the <br />property if it is rezoned. <br /> <br />Mr. Ed Hobbs and Mr. Dave Hobbs addressed the Board in <br />opposition to this petition stating that the only problems <br />they have with this rezoning is the drainage system backing <br />up to their property, and the traffic flow on Rock <br />Hill Church Road. <br /> <br /> <br />
