CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />November 16, 1988 <br /> <br />Minutes of the Cabarru.s County Planning Board <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Planning Board met in regular session on November 16, 1988, <br />at 7':00 P.M., in the C. ounty Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus County Cou:rthouse. <br /> <br />Roll Call' <br /> <br />Approval/ <br />Correcti on of <br />Minutes. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by 'Vice 'Chairman Ronald Page. <br />Members pr~ese.nt in addition to Mr. Page were Mr. Gerald Nichols, <br />Ms. Nancy Randall and Mr. Louis Suther. Attending from the <br />Planning Department were Mr. James F. Owens, Planning Director, <br />Mr. Mike Byrd and Mr. Jonathan B. Marshall.. Also present <br />was Mr. Gordon L. Belo, Attorney for the Planning Board. <br /> <br />With there being no corrections to the October 19, 1988 Minutes, <br />Mr. Suther MOTIONED,. seconded 'by Mr. Nichols to approve the <br />mi'nutes as mailed. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />New Business <br />Norman E. <br />Negre <br />Rezoning <br />C-4 to C-3' <br /> <br />Wi.th there being no corrections-to the November 3, 1988 <br />Minutes,. Mr. Suther MOTIONED, seconded by Ms.. Randal 1 to <br />approve the minutes as mail.ed. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />Mr. Page stated to the citizens that the Planning Boar. d is <br />an advisory committee and only make recommendations to the <br />County Commissio.ners on rezonings. The County Commissioners <br />will discuss all issues on DeCember 19, 1988, at 7'00 P.M., <br />and they will make all decisions on rez.oning requests. <br /> <br />Petition 88-18, was a request by Norman E. Negre, off Lane <br />Street betWeen Turkey Road and Old Salisbury-Concord Road, <br />to have his property rezoned from C-4 to C-3, to u.se as <br />a race shop. <br /> <br />Mr. Negre addressed the Board stating that he built race <br />cars and noise would only occur when a new engine is installed <br />and checked for leaks. He also stated that the primary <br />purpose of ,the shop was fabricating race car bodies. <br /> <br />After discussion Mr. Suther MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. <br />'Nichols to approve petition 88-18. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> <br />
