CABARRUS COUNTY' <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br /> <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />'February 18, 1987 <br /> <br />~Minutes of the Cabarrus' County Planning Board <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Planning Board met in regular .session on February 18, 1987, <br />at 7-00 P.M., in the County Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus County COurthouse. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />The meeting was called ~to order by Chairman. Mr, Larry Loving. <br />Members present in addition to Mr. Loving were Mr. Gerald <br />Nichol s, Mr. Ronald Page and Mr. L~i.~s S~'ther.~.. Attending from <br />the PI'arming Department were Mr. Mike Byrd, Mr. Phillip L. <br />Kingsland and Ms. Phyllis C. Carr. A1 so present was Mr. <br />Gordon L. Belo, Attorney for the Planning Board. <br /> <br />Approval / <br />Correcti on of - <br />Minutes' <br /> <br />With there being no ~corrections to the January 21, 1987 Minutes, <br />Mr. Nichols MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Suther to approve the <br />minutes as mailed. The vote was Unanimous. <br /> <br />Mr. Loving stated to the citizens that the Planning Board is an <br />advisory committee and only makes recommendations to the <br />County Commissioners on rezonings. The County Commissioners will <br />discuss all issues on March 16, 1987, at 7'00 P.M., and they <br />will make the final decision on rezoning requests. <br /> <br />New Business <br />CAMHI Rezoning <br />R-40 to I-1: <br /> <br />Petition 87-05, was a request by Charlotte Area Manufactured Housing, <br />~f-f-~r~s-~o Road to have their property rezoned from R-40 <br />to I-1, to accommodate advertising signs. <br /> <br />Mr. John Boger addressed the Board on behalf of Charlotte Area <br />Manufactured Housing, Inc. stating that Charlotte Area Manufactured <br />Housing, Inc. wishes to rebut the Planning Staff'~s recommendation <br />to deny this rezoning because the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance <br />permits advertising signs in the I-1 zone. <br /> <br />After discussion Mr. Page MOTIONED to deny petition 87-05, <br />seconded by Mr. Suther. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />Robert Shinn <br />Rezoning <br />A-2 to C-2: <br /> <br />Petition'87-06, was a request by Mr. Robert Shinn, off Highway <br />200 t'o have his property rezoned from A-2 to C-2, to construct <br />a car wash and create a commercial development area in the <br />Georgevi 11 e area. <br /> <br />Mr. Randy Wiggins addressed the Board on behalf of Mr. Shinn <br />stating he wi shed for the Board to rezone Mr. Shinn's property. <br /> <br />After discu~ssion Mr. Nichols MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Page to <br />approve petition 87-06. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> <br />
