CABARRUS COUNTY' <br /> <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br /> <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />June 17, 1987 <br /> <br />Minutes of the Cabarrus County Planning Board <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Planning Board met in regular session on June 17., 1987, at <br />7'00 p.m., in the County Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus County Courthouse <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Approval/ <br />Correcti on of <br />Minutes- <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Ronald <br />Page. Members in addition to Mr. Page were Mr. Robert <br />Ewan, Mr. Gerald Nichols and Mr. Louis Suther. Attending <br />from the Planning Department were Mr..James F. Owens/ <br />Planning Director, Mr. Mike Byrd, Mr. Phillip L. Kingsland <br />and Ms Phyllis C. Carr. A1 so present was Mr. Gordon L. <br />Belo/Attorney for the Planni~ng Board. <br /> <br />With there being no corrections 'to the May 20, 1987 Minutes, <br />Mr. Nichols MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Suther to approve the <br />minutes as mailed. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />New Busi.ness <br />John Crosland <br />Rezoning <br />ARR to R-15: <br /> <br />Mr. Page stated to the citizens that the Planning Board <br />is an advisory committee and only makes recommendations <br />to the County Commissioners on rezonings. The County <br />Commissioners will discuss all issues on July 20, 1987, <br />at 7'00 p.m., and they will ma~ke the final decisions on <br />rezoning requests. <br /> <br />Petition 87-17, was a request by John Crosland Company, off <br />Peach Orchard Road, to have their property rezoned from <br />ARR to R-15, to allow for development in a desirable nature <br />with. property in Mecklenburg County. <br /> <br />Mr. Owens addressed the Board about-this petition stating <br />that petition 87-17 was heard by the County Commissioners <br />on June 15, 1987. Mr. Owens stated that Mr. Bill Alexander, <br />Attorney representing John Crosla~nd 'C°mpany, as.ked the <br />County Commissioners to table this petition until a proposed <br />zoning text change of the ten year growth area could be <br />submitted. After discussion with Mr. Belo, it was <br />recommended that this issue be tabled until the July <br />Planning Board meeting so that proper procedures would <br />be fol 1 owed. <br /> <br />The Board tabled petition 87-17 until the July 15, 1987 <br />Planning Board meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
