CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br /> <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />September 16, 1987 <br /> <br />Minutes of the Cabarrus County Planning Board <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Planning Board met in regul~ar session on Septembe'r 16, 1987, at <br />7:00 p.m., in the County Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus County 'Courthouse. <br /> <br />.Roll Call: <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Larry Loving. <br />Members present in addition to Mr. Loving we-re Mr. Robert <br />Ewan, Mr, Gerald Nichols and Mr. Ronald Page. Attending <br />from the Planning Department were Mr. Mike Byrd, Mr. <br />Phillip L. Kingsland and Ms. Phyllis C. Carr. Also <br />attending was Mr. Gordon L. Belo, Attorney for the Planning Board. <br /> <br />Approval/ <br />Correcti on of <br />Minutes' <br /> <br />With there being no corrections to the August 19, 1987 <br />Minutes, Mr. Nichols MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Ewan to <br />approve the minutes as mailed. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />With there being no corrections to the August 31, 1987 Minutes, <br />Mr. Page MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Ewan to approve the minutes <br />a.s mailed. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />Mr. Loving stated to the citizens that the Planning Board is <br />an advisory committee and only makes recommendations to the <br />County Commissioners on rezonin'gs. The County Commissioners <br />will discuss all issues-on .October 19, 1987, at 7:00 p.m. and <br />they will make the final decision on rezoning request. <br /> <br />New Business <br />Days Inn of <br />America, Inc. <br />Rezoning <br />A-I to I-2: <br /> <br />Petition 87-26, was a request by Days Inn of America, Inc., <br />off Davidson Highway and Biscayne Drive to have their <br />property rezoned from A-I to I-2., to put in warehouse and <br />offices, material handling equipment shop and sales lot. <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Williams, agent for Days Inn of America Inc., <br />addressed the Board on behalf of this petition, stating <br />he would like to request that the rezoning on that property <br />be kept as I-2. <br /> <br />Preliminary <br />Plats: <br />Blackberry <br />Hills' <br /> <br />After discussion Mr. Page MOTIONED, seconded by Mr..Ewan <br />to deny petition 87-26. The vote was 2-2. <br /> <br />The first item on the agenda for preliminary plat subdivision <br />approval was Blackberry Hills - Dr. James W. Clay. <br /> <br />After discussion Mr. Page MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Ewan to <br />approve Blackberry. Hills subdivision plat preliminary <br />contingent upon the 25 year flood line be shown on the final <br />plat and the street in Cabarrus County portion be paved <br />according to the subdivision regulations and NCDOT specifications. <br />The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> <br />
