Speed Rezo n i ng R-30 to ARR: With .there bei.ng no corrections to ..the .April 9,. 1986 Minutes, Mr, 'Loving MOTIONED, seconded by~ Mr., Page. to approve the minu.tes · a.s mailed. The ....vote~ was unanimous. Mr'. Ran.kin stated .to.~.the citizens that the Planning Board is an advisory committee and only~ makes recommendations to the County Commissioners .on rezoning.s, .'.The County Commissioners wi-ll discus, s al 1 issues On .Thursday, June 5, 1986, at 7-00 P.M. and they will make~.the final, decisions as to rezoning. Petition 86-11, was a request by Ms. Annie-J.ane McCombs off ~ad 'to have her property rezoned from RMF-6 to C-1, to al 1 ow replacement of existing store. Mr.. Sam Shue addressed .the Board in- fav.or of this petition. After discussion Mr' Loving MOTIONED, s.econded by Mr. Ewan to approve petition 86-1.1. The vote-was unanimous. Peti;-tion'.86-12, was. a request by Lake. Speed. off Ol~d Salisbury ~s property rezoned from R-30 to ARR, to allow his-property t'o be used as a "home base!' for a NASCAR Race Team. Mr, Tom Grady addressed the Board on ..behal. f of Mr. Speed stating .that Mr. Speed was getting th.is lO0'acres rezoned so he could .construct a shop to build his own race cars. Mr.. Grady also stated .that Mr..Speed would only need 5 or 6 acres of.the 100 acres to~ build this shop. Ms, Thelma S/hi.th addressed the Board stating., that-some people do not understand what R-30 and ARR zones mean.
