CABARRUS COUNTY' PLANNING DEPARTMENT Post Office Box 707 CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 September 1 O, 1986 Minutes of the Cabarrus County Planning Board The Cabarrus County Planning Board met in regular session on Sepi:~ember 10, 1986, at 7-06 p.m,, in the ~County Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus County Courthouse. Before the meeting began, Mr. Gerald E. Nichols was sworn in as Planning Board iqember by ~agistrate, Ms. Carolyn M. Goodman. Roll- Call- Approval/ Correction of Mi nutes' The meeting was called to order by former Chairman, Mr. F.A. "Jack" Rankin, Jr. Members present were Mr. Robert Ewan, Mr. R.M. Fagga.rt, Jr., Mr. Larry Loving, Mr Gerald Nichols and Mr. Ronald Page.. Attending from the Planning Department were Mr. James F. Owens Assistant Planning Director, Mr. Mike Byrd, Mr. Phil{ip Kingsland and Ms. Phyllis C. Carr. Also attending were Mr. Gordon L. Belo, Attorney for the Planning Board a'nd Mr. Kenneth Payne, Liaison Commissioner. After a correction was made to the Minutes, Mr...Ewan MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Faggart to approve the minutes as revised The vote was unani:mous. ' New Busi ness Election of Officers- Mr. Rankin conducted the election of officers. Mr. Page nominated Mr. Larry Loving for Chairman of the Planning Board, seconded by Mr. Faggart. Mr. Ewan MOTIONED to close the nomination, seconded by Mr. Page. The vote was unanimous. Mr. Larry Loving, Chairman, Cabarrus County Planning Board. iqr. Rankin turned the meeting over to Mr. Loving. Mr. Loving stated to Mr. Rankin, on behalf of the ~Board, that it has been a pleasure working with him for the past six (6) years, and he would be missed. Charl es S. Myers Rezo n i ng ARR to R-7.2- Mr. Faggart nominated Mr. Ronald Page, Vice Chairman, seconded by Mr. Ewan. Mr. Ewan MOTIONED to close the nomination. The vote was unanimous. Mr, Ronald Page, Vice Chairman, Cabarrus County Planning Board. Petition 86-27, was a request by Mr. Charles Stephen Myers, ~'ff-Odell '~h-O01 Road to have his 'property rezoned from ARR to R-7..2; to allow a possible mobile home park. Mr. Loving stated to the citizens that the Planning Board is an advisory committee and only makes recommendations to the County Commissioners on rezonings. The County Commissioners will discuss all issues on Thursday, October 2, 1986, at 7-00 P.M and' they will make the final decision as to rezoning.
