Belo, <br />present. <br /> <br /> - "Jack" Rankin, <br /> Members present in addition to Mr. Rankin were~ <br />R.M. ~aggart, Jr. Ms Helene Hilger Mr. Larry Loving and <br />Joe Ridenhour. A~ten~ing from the P~anning Department were <br />Thomas B. Robinson, Planning Director, Mr. James F. Owens, <br />stant Planning Director, Ms. Debra Luckadoo-Shockley and <br />Phyllis C. Carr, Secretary to the Planning Board. <br /> Payne, Liaison to the Planning Board and <br /> Attorney for the Planning Board were also <br /> <br /> Mr. Rankin stated to the citizens that the Planning Board is an <br /> advisory committee and only makes recommendations to the <br /> County Commissioners on rezonings. The County Commissioners will <br /> discuss all issues on Thursday, March 7, 1985, at 7-00 p.m. <br /> and they will make the final decisions as to rezoning. <br /> <br /> Petition 85-01, was a request by Mr. Charles W Stroud to have <br /> h~is prope"r"t~-o~n Red Street at Hillcrest Drive rezoned from <br /> RMF-6 to C-3,in order to establish a used car lot. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roy Biggerstaff addressed the Board on behalf of Ms. Blondie <br /> Bost in opposition to the petition. <br /> <br />Mr. Charles W. Stroud addressed the Board on behalf of himself <br />for his petition. After discussion, Mr. Loving MOTIONED, seconded <br />by Ms. Hi lger to ~ petition 85-01. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />Petitig.n'~85-02__ was a request by Mr. Wade Hammonds to have his <br />property on Mooresville Road and Bethpage Road rezoned from <br />R-9 to C-2, to allow construction of a restaurant and retail <br />store. Mr. Jim Scarbrough represented Mr. Hammonds on behalf <br />of this pe'tition. Mr. Wade Hammonds addressed the Board stating~ <br />that he intends on putting a combination ba'rbecue house that <br />will be like a family seaford house, except it Will be a <br />barbecue house on this property. After discussion, Mr. Faggart <br />MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Loving to approve petition 85-02. <br />The vote was 3 to 2 with Ms. Hi l§er and Mr. Rankin dissenting. <br /> <br /> <br />
