"Jack" <br />Rankin, Jr. Members present in addition to Mr. Rankin were <br />Mr. R.M. Faggart, Jr., Ms. Helene Hilger, Mr. Larry Loving and <br />Mr. Joe' Ridenhour. Attending from the Planning Department were <br />Mr. Thomas B. Robinson, Planning Director, Mr. James F. Owens, <br />Assistant Planning. Director, Mr. Mike Byrd and Ms. Phyllis <br />C. Carr. Also 'present were Mr. Kenneth Payne, Liaison <br />Commissioner to the Planning Board and Mr. Gordon L. Belo, <br />Attorney for the P!anning Board. <br /> <br />Petition 85-0.4, was a request by El lare D. Johnson to have <br />her property on Wood Street near James Street rezoned from <br />R-7.2 to R-8, to allow the placement of a single-wide mobile <br />home on 'the property. <br /> <br />Mr,. Owens addressed the Board concerning this petition, stating <br />that there are two optiOns the Board can consider. First <br />rezone the area to an R-8 zone because the City of Concord will <br />be annexing the only R-8 area in the county June 30, 1986~ <br />therefore, the R-8 zone will be eliminated and second let the <br />R-8 zone die out completely and permit double-wide and singl'e- <br />wi de mobile homes in the R-7.2 zone. <br /> <br />Mr. Robinson al so addressed the Board about this petition and <br />stated that the planning staff had reviewed the area and would <br />be recommending that the general area in question be rezoned <br />to R-8 or a similar classification that would allow single- <br />wilde mobil e homes. <br /> <br />After discussion, Mr. Ridenhour MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. <br />Faggart to approve petition 85-04 under the circumstances <br />and hardship, and to rezone that one lot to an R-8 zone. <br />The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />Petition 85-02.
