CABARRUS COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT Post Office Box 707 CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 Ma'y 8, 1985 Minutes of'the Cabarrus Cc~unty-Planning Board The Cabarrus County Planning Board met in. regular session on May 8, 1985, at 7'01 p.m. in the County Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus County Courthouse. Roll Call- The meetin§ was called to order by Chairma.n F.A. "Jack" Rankin, Jr., at 7:01 p.m. Members present in addition to Mr. Rankin were Mr. R.M. Fa§gart, Jr., Ms. Helene Hilger, Mr. Larry Loving and Mr. Joe Ridenhour. Attending from the Planning Department were Mr. James F. Owens, Assistant Planning Director, and Ms. Phyllis C. Carr. A1 so present was Mr. Gordon L Belo Attorney for the Planning Board. ' ' Approval of Minutes · Co mmi s s i on e rs Deci s ions · Ms'. Hilger MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Faggart to approve the April 10, 1985 Minutes. as mailed with the following correction- Mr. Ph~il Meacham addressed the Board in opposition to petition 85-20. The vote was unanimous. Mr. Loving MOT~.ONED to approve the April 17, 1985 Minutes as mail ed, seconded by Mr. Faggart. The vote was unanimous. Mr. Ridenhour addressed, the Board as to the decisions that were made by the County Commissioners at the May 2 1985 rezoning meeting. ' Mr. Owens addressed the Board stating the County Commissioners went with the decisions of the Planning Board except for Mr. Stallings property (petition 85-18) where his 3.69 acre tract is located across Rocky River. Mr. Owens stated he had questions concerning the intent of the I-2 district. Mr. Owens also stated the Commissioners want that part of Mr. Stallings petition (3.69 acres) tabled until his attorney could come up with either a PDO district to reserve that as a green area or maybe sell the property to Mi nera 1 Res ea rch. Mr. Rankin addressed the Board stating that Mr. Herman Childers property (petition 85-20) was tabled to see if the Planning Board could come up with a provision to sell christmas trees in a C-1 zone. Mr. Owens stated that he talked with Mr F.E. Isenhour, Jr., Zoning Administrator, concerning Mr. Childers property and Mr.- Isenhour stated to him that he was going to write a memo stating he want~ the'~Plann~ng Board _to le-a~'~e- the.
