CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> Post Office Box 707 <br /> <br />CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA 28025 <br /> <br />Ma'y 8, 1985 <br /> <br />Minutes of'the Cabarrus Cc~unty-Planning Board <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Planning Board met in. regular session on May 8, 1985, at 7'01 <br />p.m. in the County Commissioners Room of the Cabarrus County Courthouse. <br /> <br />Roll Call- The meetin§ was called to order by Chairma.n F.A. "Jack" Rankin, <br /> Jr., at 7:01 p.m. Members present in addition to Mr. Rankin <br /> were Mr. R.M. Fa§gart, Jr., Ms. Helene Hilger, Mr. Larry Loving <br /> and Mr. Joe Ridenhour. Attending from the Planning Department <br /> were Mr. James F. Owens, Assistant Planning Director, and Ms. <br /> Phyllis C. Carr. Hilger MOTIONED, seconded by Mr. Faggart to approve the <br />April 10, 1985 Minutes. as mailed with the following correction- <br />Mr. Ph~il Meacham addressed the Board in opposition to petition <br />85-20. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />Mr. Loving MOT~.ONED to approve the April 17, 1985 Minutes as <br />mail ed, seconded by Mr. Faggart. The vote was unanimous. <br /> <br />Mr. Ridenhour addressed, the Board as to the decisions that were <br />made by the County Commissioners at the May 2 1985 rezoning <br />meeting. ' <br /> <br />Mr. Owens addressed the Board stating the County Commissioners <br />went with the decisions of the Planning Board except for Mr. <br />Stallings property (petition 85-18) where his 3.69 acre tract <br />is located across Rocky River. Mr. Owens stated he had questions <br />concerning the intent of the I-2 district. Mr. Owens also stated <br />the Commissioners want that part of Mr. Stallings petition (3.69 <br />acres) tabled until his attorney could come up with either a <br />PDO district to reserve that as a green area or maybe sell the <br />property to Mi nera 1 Res ea rch. <br /> <br />Mr. Rankin addressed the Board stating that Mr. Herman Childers <br />property (petition 85-20) was tabled to see if the Planning <br />Board could come up with a provision to sell christmas trees <br />in a C-1 zone. <br /> <br />Mr. Owens stated that he talked with Mr F.E. Isenhour, Jr., <br />Zoning Administrator, concerning Mr. Childers property and Mr.- <br />Isenhour stated to him that he was going to write a memo stating <br />he want~ the'~Plann~ng Board _to le-a~'~e- the. C-l_zone alone,~,.an, d' that <br />Mr. Childers could sell his christmas:~ trees in the C-1 zone if <br />Mr. Ch i 1 tiers obtai ned the proper permi.ts. <br /> <br /> <br />
