Minutes of last meeting were read.and approved. <br />2. Chairman Coltrane reported that he and S. I. Parker appeared before <br />the County Commissioners March 1, 1965 and secured the passage of a <br />resolution requesting Representative Dwight W. Quinn to present an <br />act to the Legislature, authorizing the County Commissioners to levy <br />a special water improvement tax. The following is a copy of the <br />resolution: <br />On motion of Mr. M. Neil Petrea, seconded by Mr. Smoot Lyles, <br />the following resolution was adopted: <br />Whereas, this Board approved the Coddle- Coldwater -Dutch Buffalo <br />Creeks Water Improvement Program as recommended by the Board of <br />Supervisors of Cabarrus Soil and Water C onservation District: and <br />whereas funds are not available to meet the cost of the Program: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br />That Honorable Dwight W. Quinn, member of the House of Representa- <br />tives from Cabarrus County, be requested to introduce and cause to be <br />enacted into law a bill to authorize and empower the County of Cabarrus <br />to levy a special water improvement tax not to exceed two cents (2) <br />on each $100.00 valuation of property in said County, and authorizing <br />the expenditure of funds derived from such special tax for the <br />promotion and maintenance of the said Watershed Program. <br />
