The secretary reported that the APPLICATION FOR THE INCLUSION <br />OF ADDITIONAL TERRITORY WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF CABARRUS SOIL AND <br />WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT was sent to the Chairman of the <br />State Soil and Water Conservation Committee in Raleigh on Sept- <br />ember 13, 1965. <br />6. Treasurers report: Cash in Bank 9 -1 -65 298.30 <br />Donations from Supervisors 426.30 <br />Appropriation from Cab. Co. 750.00 <br />Cash in Bank 10 -1 -65 1,474.60 <br />7. A motion was made and unanimously passed to pay an invoice from <br />Lawson Bonds Studios in the amount of $20.60 for photographs which <br />Mr. Bonds had made for our Long -Range Program. <br />8. Committee Reports: <br />Education Committee No report <br />Finance Committee: No report <br />Public Relations Committee: No report <br />Publicity Committee: Mr. Parker reported that the printers proof <br />of our Long -Range Program should soon be received. A copy of <br />the new color photograph for the front cover of the Long -Range <br />Program was thoroughly discussed. It was left to the discretion <br />of the committee to reach a decision as to whether or not this <br />picture could be used. Mr. Parker also reported that as soon as <br />the Long -Range Program had been received and distributed, our <br />Supervisors should give serious consideration to printing a <br />Newsletter. He distributed phamplets from the National Association <br />of Soil and Water Conservation Districts entitled "Notes About <br />Newsletters" to all of the supervisors. <br />9. The Board of Supervisors thorogghly discussed the many benefits <br />which could be derived from a joint meeting between our Board of <br />Supervisors and the Supervisors of Iredell and Rowan Counties. <br />It was the opinion of our entire Board that a greater degree of <br />understanding between the three Boards could be accomplished by <br />such a meeting. It was unanimously agreed that the Supervisors <br />of Iredell and Rowan be invited to attend a meeting as guest of <br />the Cabarrus District on Monday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. to be <br />held at Bames Restaurant in Cleveland. <br />10. A motion was made and unanimously carried that Mr. S. I. Parker, <br />whose term expires this year, be nominated for the office of <br />District Supervisor for the Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation <br />District for another term. The Board then set the date of <br />December 7 as election date and requested that the secretary <br />advise the State Committee of this date. <br />
