MINUTES <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />MEETING NO 40 <br />TIME: January 10, 1966 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. <br />PLACE: District Office <br />PRESENT: Supervisors: Associate Supervisors: Others: <br />L. D. Coltrane, III Clyde D. Cook Hugh D. Price <br />J. Lewis Patterson J. Archie Smith W. H. Cato <br />S. I. Parker Marvin Smith <br />Baker Brooks <br />S. W.Colerider, Jr. Absent: <br />W. E. Cook, in hospital <br />J. L. Cochran <br />C. C. Rimer <br />1. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. <br />2. Chairmars Report: <br />a. Notice had been received from Bryce Younts of the appointments of <br />L. D. Coltrane, III and S. W. Colerider, Jr. as Supervisors for <br />a three year term beginning January 1, 1966. <br />b. A letter had been received stating that Mr. Baker Brooks is to <br />receive an award at the Annual Meeting in Asheville, N. C., for <br />twenty years of service as a Supervisor of Cabarrus District. <br />c. An application for a MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING between Cabarrus <br />Soil and Water Conservation District and the United States Depart- <br />ment of Agriculture had been made by letter dated December 24, <br />1965. <br />3. Treasurer's Report: <br />Cash in Bank 12 -1 -65 <br />Paid Concord Tribune <br />Paid R. E. Nash, Jr. <br />Cash in Bank 1 -1 -66 <br />$1,430.90 <br />$ 3.60 <br />100.00 <br />1,327.30 <br />$1,430.90 $1,430.90 <br />4. The following resolution was passed by a unanimous vote: <br />BE IT RESOLVED: That we express the thanks of the members of this <br />Board to Mr. Robert E. Nash, Jr., member of the staff <br />of the Concord Tribune, for his cooperation and <br />assistance in writing and editing the text of our <br />recently published booklet entitled "CONSERVATION- - <br />A CHALLENGE TO CABARRUS", which is our Long Range <br />Work Program; and that Mr. Nash be paid $100.00 for <br />his professional services. <br />
