Archie Smith
Marvin J. Smith
Absent:
J. L. Cochran
Clyde D. Cook
W. E. Cook
1. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved.
2. Chairman's Report:
Chairman Coltrane reported that he had held a meeting on July 14,
1966 and others present beside himself were Lewis W. Dameron, Hugh
D. Price, and S. I. Parker. The purpose of the meeting was to
determine if any action could be taken by the Supervisors to speed
up action on our current watershed project.
During the discussions held at that meeting it was revealed, in
order to arrive at certain vital decisions concerning Sites 4, 18
and 19 it will be necessary to have contour maps of each of these
three sites. Each map should designate the area covered by the
entire site, and each of its proposed subdivisions. Each map, also,
should show the boundries of each individually owned tract of land,
included in the Site, and the name of its landowner. Mr. Dameron stated
he would endeavor to obtain these maps for the District Office just
as soon as possible.
At that meeting it was decided to recommend that the County Commiss-
ioners and the County Attorney, at an early date, be brought up -to-
date on the present status of the watershed project. It, also,
decided that the Board should recommend_ to the County Commissioners
that a meeting be arranged for Mr. H. A. (Jack) Smith, Administrative
Officer of the State Committee, Mr. Milton Heath, Institute of
Government, and representatives from this Board meet with the County
Commissioners and County Attorney, for the purpose of discussing
and clarifying all legal aspects pertaining ._to the proposed watershed
improvement program. These recommendations.were accepted and
approved.
