MINUTES <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER_ CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />MEETING NO. 49 <br />TIME: October 11, 1966 7 :30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. <br />PLACE: District Office <br />PRESENT: Supervisors: <br />L. E. Cook <br />J. Archie Smith <br />Marvin J. Smith <br />Absent: <br />C. C. Rimer <br />Others: <br />Hugh D. Price <br />1. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />2. Chairman's Report: <br />A. Chairman Coltrane reported that the maps pertaining to structure <br />#4 of the Coddle - Coldwater -Dutch Buffalo Creeks Watershed had been <br />received and studied. The landowners had been plotted on these maps <br />and all of the maps given to Mr. Don Howell, Superintendent of the <br />Concord Board of Light and Water. Mr. Howell will confer with Mr. <br />John L. Brown, Engineer of Cannon Mills Company, and after study, <br />they will give us their comments and requests. <br />B. A copy of the Surrey County Work Plan for its watershed improvement <br />project was delivered to Hoy Moose, Mayor of Mount Pleasant, in order <br />that he might complete all information needed for structure #19. <br />Mr. Moose has since given this report to a firm of engineers who are <br />in process of studying it and will obtain the desired information. <br />C. A letter was read from Mr. David A. Smith inviting our Supervisors, <br />Associates, and Agricultural Agents to the Fall Meeting of Area 3 to <br />be held at Yarboroughs Restaurant in Lexington at 10:00 a.m. on <br />October 27. All Supervisors and Associates were urged to attend this <br />meeting. <br />D. The Supervisors were advised that the term of Mr. J. Lewis <br />Patterson expire* on December 31, 1966. The motion was made, seconded <br />and unanimously carried that the name of Mr. Patterson be placed in <br />nomination for re- election. The Supervisors then set Decemter 6, 1966 <br />as the date for the election with polling places to be at Farmers <br />Wholesale Feed and Seed Store, Marshall Brafford's Store, Mac Petrea's <br />Store, Turner Shinn's Store, and C. M. Barrier's Store. An election <br />official will be assigned to each of these polling places. <br />
