A certificate was presented by Chairman Coltrane to Charles L. <br />Voncannon designating Mr. Voncannon as CONSERVATION FARMER OF <br />THE YEAR in the Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District. <br />In making the presentation Mr. Coltrane gave a most interesting <br />account of Mr. Voncannon's life and his activities as a progressive <br />farmer, who always has been interested in conservation. <br />2. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />3. Chairman's Report: <br />a. A letter was read from Billy Ayscue dated December 2, 1966, <br />which concerned Supervisor's expense vouchers. <br />b. The watershed problems concerning Structure 4 are still under <br />consideration by the interested parties. <br />C. Papers have been forwarded recommending J. Archie Smith for the <br />SPECIAL AWARD of the North Carolina Association of Soil and <br />Water Conservation Districts. <br />d. Papers have been forwarded recommending S. I. Parker for the <br />WILDLIFE FEDERATION SOIL CONSERVATION AWARD. <br />4. Treasurer's Report: <br />12 -1 -66 Cash in Bank $1,283.79 <br />There were no deposits or withdrawals during the month of Noveber. <br />5. Hugh D. Price made the following report of accomplishments of the <br />District Office during November: <br />8 Radio Programs <br />3 New Cooperators (160 acres) <br />74 Cooperators Assisted <br />4 Farm Plans Completed <br />1 Consultive Service <br />2 Private Recreational Facilities Established <br />137 Acres of Land Adequately Treated <br />
