MINUTES <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />MEETING NO. 57 <br />TIME: March 14, 1967 From 7 :30 p.m. to 9:25 p.m. <br />PLACE: District Office <br />PRESENT: Supervisors: Associate Supervisors: Others: <br />L. D. Coltrane, III J. L. Cochran Hugh D. Price <br />J. Lewis Patterson W. E. Cook <br />S. W. Colerider, Jr. C. C. Rimer <br />S. I. Parker J. Archie Smith <br />Marvin J. Smith <br />Absent: <br />Baker Brooks <br />1. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved with the correct- <br />ion that Lewis W. Dameron was present at the meeting of Cabarrus <br />County Watershed Improvement Commissioners held February 9, 1967. <br />2. A resolution was passed directing the Secretary to write a letter <br />to the widow of our recently deceased Associate Supervisor, Clyde <br />D. Cook, expressing the sentiments of the members of this Board in <br />the loss of our good friend and her devoted husband. <br />3. The Chairman reported: <br />a. That Watershed Site 4 is being con <br />Concord for storage of city water. <br />Water and Light is not prepared to <br />the problem today, but will have a <br />as the engineering firm reports on <br />sidered by the City of <br />The Concord Board of <br />give a final answer to <br />final answer just as soon <br />current studies. <br />b. That at a banquet held in Greensboro February 24, Supervisor <br />S. I. Parker was presented a Soil Conservation, Regional Award, <br />by the North Carolina Wildlife Federation. <br />4. The Treasurer reported that there were no deposits or withdrawals <br />during the month of February and 3 -1 -67 Cash in Bank $1,191.95. <br />5. Conservationist's report of accomplishments for the month of February: <br />8 Radio Programs (Coverage has been expanded to WPEG -FM, this is <br />in addition to WEGO and WGTL) <br />2 New Cooperators (66 acres) <br />90 Cooperators Assisted <br />59 Visits (this year) <br />3 Farm Plans Completed (641 acres) <br />2 Consultive Services <br />254 Acres of land adequately treated <br />He reported onr ;a field trip which he recently made with the Cabarrus <br />County Watershed Improvement Commissioners to Iredell County. The <br />purpose of the trip was to inspect and study watershed structures in <br />operation in that area. <br />
