MINUTES <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING j <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />MEETING NO. 58 <br />TIME: April 18, 1967 From 7:30 p.m. to 9:20 p.m. <br />PLACE: District Office <br />PRESENT: Supervisors: <br />J. Lewis Patterson <br />S. I. Parker <br />S. W. Colerider, Jr. <br />Associate Supervisors: <br />W. E. Cook <br />Marvin J. Smith <br />Others: <br />Hugh D. Price <br />Absent: <br />L. D. Coltrane, III <br />Baker Brooks <br />Absent: <br />J. L. Cochran <br />C. C. Rimer <br />J. Archie Smith <br />1. In the absence of Chairman Coltrane, Vice Chairman J. Lewis <br />Patterson presided. <br />2. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />3. The Treasurer reported no deposits or withdrawals during March. <br />4/1/67 Cash in Bank $1,191.95 <br />4. Report of Conservationist for the month of March: <br />a. 8 Radio Programs <br />1 New Cooperator <br />3 Consultive Services <br />70 Cooperators Assisted, of which 28 were the First Visit <br />this year. <br />3 Farm Plans Completed (208 Acres) <br />1220 Acres of Land Adequately Treated <br />b. Mr. Price reported that he met with representatives of the <br />town of Mount Pleasant and Farm Home Administration, April <br />11, to discuss plans for financing Municipal Water Storage <br />in Watershed Structure. <br />C. Mr. Price also reported that the day of April 11 was spent by <br />him in a training session at Albemarle on the problem of <br />HOW BETTER TO WORK WITH NON -FARM GROUPS such as <br />City Planning Commissions <br />Board of Realtors <br />Ministeral Associations <br />Beautification Committees <br />d. He reported sod planting prospects look good for the current <br />year. He expects a number of people who have never planted <br />sod before to plant for the first time this year. <br />
