Lewis Patterson called the meeting to order and presided <br />during the absence of Mr. Coltrane who was out of town attending another meeting. <br />2. A motion was made and passed that we dispense reading the minutes of the last <br />meeting since all Supervisors add Associate Supervisors are now receiving a copy <br />of the minutes. a <br />3. PIr. Parker, Mir. Colerider and Mr. Coltrane attended the Annual Convention held <br />at Nags Head, N. C. Mir. Parker reported that the Convention was well attended <br />and also well represented by members of the Cabarrus District. Mr. Parker <br />reported that he and others net the newly appointed State Conservationist, Mr. <br />C. W. Bartlett. Mr. Elmer Graham is to bring 1 11 , 1r. Bartlett to Concord in the near <br />future. Mr. Parker gave an excellent account of the business that was brought <br />before the Annual Convention and reported that progress was being made in all <br />aspects of Soil and Tlater Conservation work. <br />4. Treasurers Report: <br />12-1-68 Cash in Bank $1,731-76 <br />12-1-68 Paid Concord Tribune 0 .84 <br />1-1-68 Cash in Bank $1,727-92 <br />5. Phe District Conservationist made the following report on accomplishments for the <br />month of December: <br />9 Radio Programs <br />27 Cooperators Assisted <br />2 New Cooperators (278 acres) <br />208 Acres of Land Adequately Treated <br />"ir. Price also made the following comments: <br />"he SCS office was closed most of Christmas week because of scheduled leave <br />and the holidays. <br />�'he City of Concord was late getting needed maps to us for study of possible <br />watershed structures and municipal water supply. Because of this, the infor1riation <br />was not completed during the month of December. <br />Mr. Price met with the County Commissioners on January 2, 1968 at 9:00 A.111. The <br />need for a comprehensive plan and detailed soil map of the county was presented. <br />
