MINUTES <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />CABARRUS SOIL & WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />MEETING N0. 81 <br />TIME: January 9, 1969 From 7:00 P.M. to 8:15 P.M. <br />PLACE: District Office <br />ASSOCIATE <br />PRESENT: SUPERVISORS SUPERVISORS OTHERS: <br />L. Cochran <br />W. E. Cook <br />Marvin Smith <br />1. Minutes of the last meeting were approved. <br />2. Chairman's Report: <br />a. Oath of office was administered by Notary Public, Corum Miller to Mr. <br />L. D. Coltrane, III, Mr. S. I. Parker and Mr. Sam W. Colerider, Jr. <br />to serve as Supervisors for another three year term. (zJan.1969- Jan.1972) <br />b. A new Supervisors mailing list for a District Directory is to be completed <br />and sent to the state office. The same officers were elected for 196 <br />C. Chairman Coltrane urged that each of the Supervisors attend the Annual <br />Meeting in Winston- Salem, January 12 -15, 1969. <br />d. A suggestion was made that the District office write a letter concerning <br />the six (6) billboard posters the Cabarrus District was allowed to <br />purchase. The posters have not been placed in Cabarrus County as of this <br />date. <br />3. Treasurer's Report: <br />4. Monthly report for DECEMBER by our District Conservationist: <br />10 Radio Programs <br />63 Cooperators assisted (with 28 first visits) <br />3 Agreements singed (210 acres) <br />1 Conservation Plan ( 14 acres) <br />536 Acres of Land Adequately Treated <br />Mir. Price reported: <br />a. Speaking to Northwest High School students concerning Career Days. <br />b. By request, Mr. Price spoke to the Science class at Beverly Hills <br />School on Conservation of Soil and Water; especially the essential <br />need for concern of all County citizens. <br />c. Mr. Price met on December 18, 1968 with Mr. Bill Johnson, City Elrigineer, <br />to work out conditions for the District and the City to seed roadbank <br />plots as an experiment. The purpose is to control erosion while comparing <br />varities of sericea lespedeza and determine the best varities. <br />
