5. The DistrictConservationist gave the following report of accomplishments during <br />the month of May 1969: <br />8 Radio Programs <br />63 Cooperators assisted (with 20 first visits) <br />8 Consultive Services <br />3 Conservation Plans (81 acres) <br />210 Acres of land adequately treated <br />May 1-2, 1969: Comprehensive Planning Records and Reports were reviewed. <br />May 5...... .... Ricky Hartsell was the last speech winner to give his talk on <br />Pamphlets entitled, "A RESOURCES AGENDA FOR THE 70's" were <br />distributed to those present. An excellent bulletin on RURAL <br />INDUSTRY was shown and discussed. <br />The report was made that Mr. Cato, Technician in Cabarrus County, <br />is now on extended sick leave and the possibility of retirement <br />is anticipated at the end of this calendar year. The Cabarrus <br />Kbrk Unit now has only one Soil Conservation Service employee <br />in the office. <br />6. Committee Rep <br />Education: Ho report <br />Finance: Mo. Parker reported that a letter dated Hay 16, 1969 had been sent Q <br />the Cabarrus County Doard of Commissioners requesting appropriations <br />of *1500.00 to be used by the Ebard of Supervisors during the year <br />19 The letter was read to the Supervisors, was discussed and <br />upon motion, it was approved unanimously by the Ebard of Supervisors. <br />A copy of the letter !- , Till be attached to the original minutes of this <br />meeting. <br />
