The District Conservationist gave the following report of <br />accomplishments during the month of October 1969: <br />a 8 <br />43 <br />0 <br />0 <br />2 <br />317 <br />Radio Programs <br />Cooperators assisted (with 26 first visits) <br />Consultive Services <br />Agreements signed <br />Conservation Plans ( 80 acres) <br />Acres of land adequately treated <br />b. Mr. Price reported: <br />1. Educational Conservation Tour-October 6,7 and 8 <br />2. Fish Delivery- October 21, 1969 <br />3. Meeting with Mr. Jerry Myers and Mr. Sam Hearn <br />to discuss Soils for Comprehensive planning. (October 24,1969) <br />4. A report was made that several meetings were held <br />concerning the Watershed program. <br />6. Committee Reports: <br />a. Education: The Concord Womens' Club provided transportation <br />for the fifth grade City School students to <br />take the Educational Tour on Conservation. <br />November 10, 11, 18 and 19, 1969. The <br />District Supervisors are furnishing the <br />refreshments for the City School students. <br />b. The Concord Womenst Club plan to take the <br />Conservation Tour, November 15, 1969. Lee, Jr. <br />Article on FIELD BORDERS <br />Article on SCS practices <br />Published in THE CONCORD TRIBUNE: <br />10-5-69 Farmer of the Year award to Mr. Query and <br />award to R. B. Lee, Jr. <br />Watersheds: Several meetings were held during the month of <br />October with the Watershed Commissioners and <br />others involved in the Watershed Program. On <br />Monday, October 27, 1969, Mr. John Layden, Mr. <br />C. L. Lehning and Mr. Lewis Dameron met with <br />the Watershed Commissioners and some of the <br />Supervisors to discuss problems and information <br />needed on all structures involved in Cabarrus <br />County. The meeting was a discussion in particular <br />of the Water situation in Mt. Pleasant and plans <br />were made to meet with the Town Council of Mt. <br />Pleasant on November 3, 1969 to report cost estimates. <br />
