MINUTES <br />SUPERVISORS! MEETING <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />MEETING NO. 92: <br />TIME: December 4, 1969 From 7:15 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. <br />PLACE: District Office <br />PRESENT: L. D. Coltrane, III <br />Samuel I. Parker <br />J. Lewis Patterson <br />S. W. Colerider, Jr. <br />ABSENT: Baker Brooks <br />J. Archie Smith <br />W. S. Cook <br />Marvin J. Smith <br />J. L. Cochran <br />C. C. Rimer <br />0 2 t5l 21 <br />Carl 0. Overcash <br />Hugh D. Price <br />Eyvonne S. McDaniel <br />Fred H. Harkey <br />C. William Cook <br />1. A joint meeting of the District Supervisors and the Watershed Commissioners <br />was called to order by Chairman Coltrane. <br />2. Minutes of the November meeting were approved. <br />3. Chairman Coltrane appointed an election committee to check the results <br />of the election held December 2, 1969 for Supervisors of the Cabarrus <br />Soil and Water Conservation District. The committee found the ballot <br />boxes and the records of the voters participating in the election in <br />order. The results of the election was as follows: <br />Mr. J. Lewis Patterson received 50 votes <br />TOTAL VOTES CAST 50 votes <br />Mr. J. Lewis Patterson was declared elected District Supervisor for a <br />term of three (3) years which will begin January 5, 1970 and expires <br />on December 31, 1972. <br />4. Chairmanâ–şs Report: <br />a. A card of sympathy was sent to Mr. Frank D. Mitchell who <br />received the award for FARMER OF THE YEAR IN 1967. The <br />card was sent in respect to the death of Mr. Mitchell's <br />wife. <br />b. Chairman Coltrane reviewed the questionaire presented at the <br />Supervisors Short Course which was held at Ketner's Cafeteria <br />in Salisbury on November 25, 1969. Mr. Coltrane reported the <br />program was well organized and well presented for a better <br />understanding of all phases of our natural resources. Those <br />attending from the Cabarrus District were: L. D. Coltrane, III, <br />Samuel I. Parker, J. Lewis Patterson, Baker Brooks, Fred H. <br />Harkey, William H. Cato, Hugh D. Price and Eyvonne McDaniel. <br />C. Chairman Coltrane reported on the Area III Fall meeting held <br />in Greensboro, N. C. on November 28, 1969. Attending from <br />the Cabarrus District were: L. D. Coltrane, 111, W. E. Cook, <br />Samuel I. Parker, J. Lewis Patterson, Fred H. Harkey, Mx'.'sane tVlrs. <br />Hugh D. Price, William H. Cato and Eyvonne McDaniel. <br />
