A joint <br />meeting of the District Supervisors and <br />the Watershed Commissioners <br />was called to order by Chairman Coltrane. <br />2. A correction is to be made in <br />the May minutes. <br />Gerald Almond is from <br />Central <br />Cabarrus High School-not Mt. Pleasant <br />q.igb,School. <br />3. Chairman Coltrane introduced Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Almond and their son <br />Gerald to the members present. Gerald is the delegate for the Natural <br />Resources Conservation Workshop which is held in Raleigh June 8-12, 1970. <br />Gerald was presented a check, from the District, in the amount of $60.00 <br />to be used for expenses. <br />4. Chairman's Report: <br />a. A Memorandum dated June 6, 1970 from Governor Robert W. Scott was <br />read concerning t4ulti-County Planning Regions which covers the <br />entire State of North Carolina. <br />b. A letter from ,qilliam G. Sullivan, dated May 25, 1970, was read <br />announcing a Presidentts Award Program for the most outstanding <br />District Supervisor in North Carolina. The award will be <br />presented at the 1971 Annual Meeting. The Supervisors expressed <br />appreciation of the generosity of President Sullivan. <br />C. Chairman Coltrane read a letter dated May 25, 1970 from Mr. H. A. <br />Smith explaining that a Clearinghouse and Information Center has <br />been established for: <br />(1) Watershed Protection and Flood Control <br />(2) Resource Conservation and Development <br />d. A letter from Grady Lane dated May 25, 1970 was read giving <br />information on attendance of the Supervisors at meetings held <br />each month. The information also included attendance at Area <br />Meetings. The information was very informative and should <br />promote better attendance from all Supervisors of each -District. <br />
