5. The District Conservationist gave the following report for the month <br />of July: <br />20 <br />Radio Programs <br />56 <br />Cooperators assisted (with <br />17 visits) <br />1 <br />Conservation Plan: <br />Chester Misenheimer <br />15 <br />acres <br />8 <br />District Cooperators: <br />Dr. Melvin D. Childers <br />100 <br />acres <br />Ernest Haynes <br />165 <br />acres <br />C.M. Misenheimer <br />42 <br />acres <br />J. P. Morrison <br />10 <br />acres <br />New South Properties <br />24 <br />acres <br />All Saints Church <br />10 <br />acres <br />C. S. Misenheimer <br />15 <br />acres <br />Clyde Widenhouse <br />298 <br />acres <br />18 <br />acres Contour farming <br />80 <br />acres Pasture & Hayland Management <br />Mr. Price reported that he was on vacation for two weeks during the <br />month of July. <br />Most of the month of July was spent in servicing Cooperators. <br />Phases of Conservation were explained to the Girl Scouts at Camp <br />Julia, July 12, July 25. The programs were given by Cato and <br />Hoke Wagoner. <br />a. By mutual understanding and agreement between the members of both <br />Boards and Mr. Carl O. Overcash, the recommendation naming Mr. <br />Overcash as Farmer of The Year was rescinded. The committee <br />recommended, Mr. Mark L. Harris to be named FARMER OF THE YEAR. <br />A motion was made and unanimously passed approving the recommendation. <br />b. After discussion of a slide viewer, a motion was made and passed <br />authorizing Mr. Price and Mr. Cato to act on behalf of the District <br />as purchasing agents for the viewer. The cost approval was not to <br />exceed $75.00. <br />Plans for the Fair exhibit was discussed. The slide viewer will <br />be used as a part of the exhibit using AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL and <br />local slides. The viewer can be used by the District when working <br />with the local schools, business, etc. <br />C. A motion was made and unanimously passed to order 1000 LITTERBAGS <br />to be distributed during the Educational Conservation tour this <br />year. (LITTERBAGS ordered August 16, 1972). <br />FINANCE: <br />It was reported that the books have been audited and reports 203, <br />204 and 205 have been mailed to the State Office. <br />
