A joint meeting of the District Supervisors and Watershed Commissioners <br />was called to order. L. D. Coltrane, III opened the meeting with prayer. <br />2. Minutes of the JULY meeting were approved. <br />3. Chairman's Report: <br />a. Chairman Colerider called on L. D. Coltrane to introduce our <br />guest; Mr. Edward Tyson, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary <br />Education. <br />b. Chairman Colerider appointed W.H.Cato and Hugh Price to serve <br />with W.S. Cook, Chairman of the Committee to select nominees for <br />Farmer of the Year-1973. <br />C. Copies of the letters from Michael White and Jesse Hicks <br />complimenting the Districts' Annual Report are to be attached <br />to a copy of the minutes for each Supervisor. <br />d. Definite plans for the Fall Area VIII Meeting have not been <br />finalized. Chairman Colerider announced that final plans will <br />be made within a few days. <br />e. A letter from Pitt County Soil & Water Conservation District <br />was read. The letter requested that a resolution from other <br />Districts be presented at the State meeting to increase matching <br />funds for district personnel. A motion was made and unanimously <br />passed that the contents would be considered, but no decision <br />reached at this meeting. <br />4.
