William Cook Byvonne McDaniel <br />ABSENT: L.D.Coltrane,111 W. E. Cook <br />J.L. Patterson C. C. Rimer <br />J. L. Cochran <br />1. Chairman Colerider Called the joint meeting of the Supervisors and <br />Watershed Commissioners to order. Hugh Price opened the meeting with <br />prayer. <br />2. Minutes of the AUGUST meeting were approved. <br />3. Chairman's Report: <br />a. Chairman Colerider announced that the Area VIII Fall meeting <br />will be held on Thursday, November 15, 1973 in Shelby. More <br />detailed information will be given at the October meeting. <br />b. Chairman Colerider asked that if there are nominees for the <br />N. C. Wildlife Federation Awards program that they be submitted <br />at the October meeting. <br />4. Treasurer's Report: <br />9/1/73 NET CASH IN BANK <br />$2589.08 <br />5. The District Conservationist gave the following report for the month <br />of August: <br />18 Radio Programs <br />62 Cooperators assisted (40 first visits) <br />10 Inventories & Evaluations <br />33 Requests for technical assistance <br />7 Landowners applying practices <br />1 Conservation Plan: <br />All Sts. Episcopal Church 10 acres <br />3 Services on Resource Planning <br />1 Unit of Government assisted <br />176 Acs. Conservation cropping system <br />157 Acs. Contour Farming <br />40 Acs.
