e. The Cabarrus District Supervisors voted to recommend for <br />nomination, Mr. Jimmy L. Rice of Iredell County, for <br />membership on State Commission. <br />f. Three Cabarrus District Supervisors have filed for election <br />in November. Mr. John McClure, Mr. Baker Brooks and Mr. J. <br />Lewis Patterson. <br />g. The Cabarrus District Supervisors and Watershed Commissioners <br />discussed at length, assistance to the Sediment Control <br />Commission. A motion was made and unanimously passed that <br />information would be obtained and sent to the State Commission <br />by October 30, 1974. <br />h. No action was taken on Resolutions to the State Commission. <br />4. Treasurer's Report: <br />8-1-74 NET CASH IN BANK <br />9-1-74 NET CASH IN BANK <br />5. District Conservationist report: <br />A copy of an article in the summer issue of "Friend Of Wildlifet? <br />is being sent to each member present. iy <br />Mr. Price reported receiving a copy of the revegetation plans <br />for the Reed Gold Mine. A copy is being sent to each member present. <br />During the month of August, Mr. Price reported the following <br />accomplishments: 18 Radio Programs, 49 Cooperators assisted with <br />24 first visits; 24 requests for technical assistance; I Conservation <br />Plan revised (Jackson Training School-950 acres); 3 services on <br />Resource Planning; 3 Units of Government assisted; 65 acres of <br />conservation cropping system; 107 acres crop residue management; <br />135 acres of minimum tillage. <br />Attended a staff meeting in Salisbury on August 1, 1974 and has <br />completed two CPO's during August. He reported vacation time <br />from August 12-16, 1974. <br />6. Committee Reports: <br />a. First prize of $50.00 was awarded to the Cabarrus District for <br />the fair exhibit this year (September 9-14, 1974). <br />b. Conservation tours with eighth grade student will begin at 8:00 <br />A.M. at the District office. The dates are: September 23, 25, <br />26, 27, 30 and October 1, 1974. <br />
