MINUTES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />MEETING NO: 156 <br />DATE: March 18, 1975 PLACE: District Office TIME: 7:30 P.M.- 9:30 P.M. <br />J. Chairman Patterson called the joint meeting of the District Supervisors <br />and Watershed Commissioners to order. Invocation was given by Hugh Price. <br />2. Minutes of the February meeting were approved unanimously. <br />Chairman Patterson welcomed guests from the Rocky River Community who <br />were present to discuss flooding problems in the area: James Lyerly, <br />W. F. Alexander, Wayne Allen, John Caskey, Susan Tubeyfield and Mr. <br />and Mrs. Larry Hall. <br />3. Chairman's Report: <br />a. An announcement was made that Dr. R. Brown McAllister is in the <br />hospital. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved <br />to send him flowers and a card. <br />b. A report was made of the Area VIII meeting held in Dallas on <br />March 10, 1975. Travel for Supervisors, Legislation and election <br />of new officers for Area VIII was the business at the meeting. <br />C. A letter from the State Commission was sent to all Supervisors and <br />District Clerks urging them to attend the District Supervisors <br />Workshop in Mooresville at 5:30 P.M., Monday, March 24, 1975. <br />d. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved that the <br />District Supervisors would write to the County Commissioners <br />recommending approval of the Countywide Soil Survey. It was <br />unanimously agreed that letters be sent to Banks, Realtors, <br />Home Building Associations and others that would contact the <br />County Commissioners to support the Countywide Soil Survey. <br />e. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed that the <br />District write letters of thanks to Richard Howard, President <br />of the Charlotte Motor Speedway and to Massey Septic Tank Company <br />for their interest and help in preparing for the Land Judging <br />contest. <br />
