MINUTES CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT SUPERVISORS MEETING MEETING NO: 156 DATE: March 18, 1975 PLACE: District Office TIME: 7:30 P.M.- 9:30 P.M. J. Chairman Patterson called the joint meeting of the District Supervisors and Watershed Commissioners to order. Invocation was given by Hugh Price. 2. Minutes of the February meeting were approved unanimously. Chairman Patterson welcomed guests from the Rocky River Community who were present to discuss flooding problems in the area: James Lyerly, W. F. Alexander, Wayne Allen, John Caskey, Susan Tubeyfield and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hall. 3. Chairman's Report: a. An announcement was made that Dr. R. Brown McAllister is in the hospital. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved to send him flowers and a card. b. A report was made of the Area VIII meeting held in Dallas on March 10, 1975. Travel for Supervisors, Legislation and election of new officers for Area VIII was the business at the meeting. C. A letter from the State Commission was sent to all Supervisors and District Clerks urging them to attend the District Supervisors Workshop in Mooresville at 5:30 P.M., Monday, March 24, 1975. d. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously approved that the District Supervisors would write to the County Commissioners recommending approval of the Countywide Soil Survey. It was unanimously agreed that letters be sent to Banks, Realtors, Home Building Associations and others that would contact the County Commissioners to support the Countywide Soil Survey. e. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed that the District write letters of thanks to Richard Howard, President of the Charlotte Motor Speedway and to Massey Septic Tank Company for their interest and help in preparing for the Land Judging contest.
