Chairman Patterson called the meeting to order to discuss several important <br />items of business, Mr. L. D. Coltrane, ITT gave the invocation. <br />2. Minutes of thce JULY meeting were approved by the Supervisors present. <br />3. Chairman's Report: <br />On behalf of the Board of Supervisors, il ' ssociate Supervisors, Watershed <br />Commissioners and office - , - )ersonnel, Mr. Patterson expressed deer- sadness of <br />the death of Pir, A. !3. (Bill) Cook on A 3. 1975. Bill served as <br />Associate Supervisor with the Cabarrus Di-;trict board since 1964. <br />An announcement was madc that Mr. S. 1. Parker, Associate Supervisor hers <br />returned horoe today from the Cabarrus Miemorial Hospital, We wish hire a <br />speedy recovery. <br />I <br />1k4r. Baker Brooks is still not able to attend the Meeting du,(a to his recent <br />time spent in the hospital. Thc� District Board hor, he be able to <br />Ise with us again soon. <br />a. A letter from Roy Nifong, Jr., President of the State SWICD i <br />was read. Mr. Nifong is requesting an additional $25.00 from each <br />District to cort sate the N. C. ' Association s budget since federal. grants did not materialize, A motion was made by those present that <br />the Cabarrus District Board pay the additional amount of $2 <br />b. A letter frorp, Grady Lane was read explaining Supervisors travel expense <br />for fiscal year 1974-75. <br />c. It was announced that the Natural Econowiics Resource office in <br />Mooresville is open to assist counties in this rea with sedi-ment <br />control problems. <br />d. Chairman Patterson announced that th(-: District Supervisors have <br />received copies of the 1975-76 objectives. <br />
