M I N Ur ES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />MEETING NO: 165 <br />DATE: December 9, 1975 PLACE: K & W Cafeteria TIME: 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. <br />PRESENT: <br />J. Lewis Patterson Roy Townsend Fred Harkey <br />John T. McClure S.W.Colerider,Jr. Carl Overcash <br />Wesley B. Grant C. William Cook <br />Marvin J. Smith <br />ABSENT: <br />Baker Brooks <br />Archie Smith <br />L. D. Coltrane,11I <br />3dward Overcash <br />Prior to the meeting of the District Supervisors and Watershed Commissioners, a <br />total of 47 people were present for dinner at the K and W Cafeteria. <br />Chairman Patterson presided; calling on Wesley Grant for the Invocation. <br />I <br />Wives and friends attending were: Mrs. Lewis Patterson, Mrs. John T. McClure, <br />1 <br />Mrs. Wesley B. Grant, Mrs. Marvin Smith, Mrs. Roy Townsend, Mrs. S. W. Colerider,,jr.,l <br />i <br />Mrs. Fred Harkey, Mrs. Carl Overcash, Candus Overcash, Mrs. William Cook, Mrs. <br />Ronnie Stephens, Mrs. W. H. Cato, Miss Monica Little, Mr. Harvey Moore and Mrs. <br />Pearl Robbins. <br />Chairman Patterson introduced the Conservation speech contest winner, Miss Dana <br />Hatley. Dana presented her winning speech to those present. <br />Hugh ' Price announced that brochures of the Sediment Pollution Control Act were <br />being printed and would soon be available for distribution. <br />Hugh Price introduced Mr. Don H. Woodyard, Goodyear representative. Many <br />complimentary remarks were given by Mr. Woodyard commending the Cabarrus District <br />of their excellent conservation program. He presented awards to the Supervisors <br />in recognition of being second place winner of the Annual Goodyear Contest. Hle <br />also presented the Goodyear Conservation Farm Family of the Year award to Mr. <br />Lee W. Barrier. <br />1. Following - the program, Chairman Patterson called the meeting to order. <br />2. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed approving the November <br />minutes. <br />3. Chairman's Report: <br />a. An announcement was made of the N. C. State Association meeting to be <br />held in Winston-Salem, N. C_ --January 18-21, 1976. Chairman Patterson <br />urged those present to attend. <br />b. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed that the Cabarrus <br />District would donate two (2) door prizes for the State meeting. <br />C. Chairman Patterson announced that election of District officers will <br />be held at the January meeting. <br />
