6. Committee reports: <br />a Chairman Patterson noted that Miss Elise Litaker would be <br />qualified to fill the vacancy on the Education Committee left <br />by Baker Brooks pending her approval by the State Commission. <br />No action was taken on this appointment to the Education Committee. <br />b. A notion was made, seconded and unanimously passed that the <br />District would sponsor and finance the following projects in 1976: <br />(1) Goodyear contest (2) Land Judging contest (3) Soil Stewardship <br />Week (4) Resource Conservation Workshop (5) Conservation Farm Family <br />of the Year (6) Conservation tours (7) Annual Speech contest (8) <br />Wildlife award and (9) fair exhibit. <br />a. The District budget for 1976-77 will be presented, to the Board <br />for approval at the February meeting. <br />b. A personnel needs survey for the Cabarrus District was completed <br />and is to be mailed to NACD. <br />a. An announcement was made that a letter dated January 5, 1976 was <br />written requesting that the W.)-tershed planning staff from Raleigh <br />meet with the District Board and Watershed Commissioners on <br />February 10, 1976 to review the status of the Coddle-Coldwater- <br />Dutch Buffalo Creeks watershed work plan. <br />b. Expense vouchers for the ' Watershed Commissioners for the period <br />of July through December of 1975 were signed at this meeting and <br />are to be mailed to the County Manager. <br />C. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed that the <br />, watershed Commission officers for 1976 will be: <br />Fred H. Harkey President <br />Carl 0. Overcash Vice-President <br />William Cook Secretary-Treasurer <br />LAND- USE - <br />a. John McClure explained the Memorandum of Understanding with the <br />ASCS and Corp of Engineers. <br />b. Hugh Price reported receiving detailed instructions from SCS <br />concerning Long Term Agreements. <br />C. Hugh Price reported that the Sediment Control brochures have not <br />been printed yet. <br />7. Unfinished business: <br />a. Thanks from the District was expressed to S. 4. Colerider, Jr., <br />Associate Supervisor, for his donation of two door prizes for the <br />State meeting in Winston-Salem. <br />
