Chairman Patterson called on Hugh Price for prayer. 2. Those present accepted the September minutes as mailed out. 3. Chairman's report: a. Mr. Patterson and Mr. McClure reported on the Area VIII meeting held on October 6, 1977 in Stanly County (See attached minutes). b. It was reported that the Districts in Area VIII have been asked to report to Wade Carrigan on several items discussed at the Area VIII meeting. (These items are reported in the attached minutes). It was suggested that the Cabarrus District make their decisions concerning these items at the November meeting. C. See attached letter announcing a special Area VIII meeting in Charlotte on November 9, 1977. 4. Treasurer's report: October 18, 1977 NET CASH IN BANK $3530.24 5. Hugh Price, District Conservationist, gave the following report: A brochure "Working Together has been received in the office and is available for reviewing to those interested. An announcement was made that a Watershed Workshop will be held on October 25, 26 and 27th. On October 26, the Watershed Workshop will be in Asheboro at the Holiday Inn beginning at 10:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. Of the three Workshops, Asheboro is the nearest to Cabarrus County. An announcement was made that a Land-Use Planning meeting will be held on November 4, 1977 in Statesville. Those who can attend will meet at the County building downtown at 8:00 A.M.
