13 t MINUTES CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT SUPERVISORS MEETING • DATE: November 8, 1977 District office 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. J. Lewis Patterson S.W.Colericler,Jr. Carl O. Mitchell 1. Chairman Patterson called the joint meeting of the District Supervisors and Watershed Commissioners to order. Chairman Patterson called on Hugh Price for prayer. 2. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed approving the October minutes. 3. Chairman's report: It was announced that Area V111 District Supervisors are to meet on November 9, 1977 at 7:30 P.M. in the Conference Room of the Mecklenburg District office. The meeting is being held to elect a representative for the State Commission seat and for Second Vice-President of the State Association. 4. Treasurer's report: November S. 1977 " 3380.18 5. Hugh Price, District Conservationist, reported that the fiscal year for SCS began October 1, 1977 and that conservation planning for cooperators and new requests for ponds, conservation plans and assistance are in- creasing. Hugh also reported that he had talked with Royce F-spey, Royce has requested information from the Supervisors concerning the percentage of damage reduction. After Hugh's report, the District Supervisors requested that Hugh compose a letter for the District giving Royce their decision of 42yo damage reduction and less percentage the Supervisors felt could not be accepted. 6. COMMITTEE REPORTS: EDUCATION (Hogan) ( Report given by 23yvonne McDaniel) a. The speech contest will be held at Hartsell School on December 6 1, 1977 at 7:00 P.M. This will be a part of the December meeting. b. Three judges have been notified to serve at the speech contest.
