Price <br />Eyvonne S. McDaniel <br />Associate Supervisors: Coltrane, Colerider, Mitchell, Drye and Brooks. <br />1. Chairman Patterson called the meeting to order calling on Rev. Hogan for <br />prayer. <br />2. A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed approving the December <br />minutes. <br />3. Chairman's report: <br />a. The books are open at the Board of Elections for filing for District <br />Supervisor. The dead line date for filing: July 7, 1978-12:00 noon. <br />4. Treasurerts report: <br />January 17, 1978 NET CASH IN BANK $ 3172.43 <br />5. The District Conservationist gave the following report: <br />The City of Concord has just revised their subdivision regulations. <br />A copy has been furnished this office. They are requesting review and <br />comments on applications. <br />Town Creek subdivision is proposed. Comments have been made concerning <br />soils and compliance with the N. C. Sediment and Pollution Control Act. <br />During the first quarter of 1978, there have been 5 requests for <br />conservation plans approved. We have worked with 123 people and provided <br />181 services. 15 inventories and evaluations (one time services) have <br />been provided. 4 Units of Government have had 8 services. 6 conservation <br />plans for 364 acres have been completed. An additional 7,736 acres of <br />soil survey has been completed. <br />During the January meeting of the County Commissioners, we met with them <br />and Dr. Don Philen presented the arrangements for use of N. C. appropriated <br />funds for soil survey. Mr. Willard Ramsey was presented as a new Soil <br />Scientist and they were informed of John Kick's work on a temporary basis. <br />Ronald B. Stephens gave a progress report of the Soil Survey to date. <br />The County Commissioners have requested space needs for SCS. The Architect <br />is working on proposed plans. A sketch was shown of the proposed space. <br />The building is proposed as a new building at the County Home location. <br />Extension Service would have the first floor. ASCS and N.C. Forest <br />Service would have one end and SCS and FmHA would have the other end of <br />the second floor. Rest rooms and access would be in the center. <br />
